Vehicle Restoration
We have manufactured replica plates for many different restoration projects. Amongst our customers is P&A Wood of Dunmow, Essex, the leading restorers of Rolls Royce and Bentley motorcars. We have made plates for Gardner diesel engines, English Electric diesel locos, MG cars, Stanley steam cars, full size Fowler and Aveling & Porter traction engines and veteran bicycles, to name but a few.
Very often a vehicle that has been in storage or shut in a barn for many years will have lost its plates. To reproduce these plates, all we need to work from is a similar plate (perhaps from a similar vehicle) or a photograph. Sometimes, if an original plate cannot be sourced, experience enables us to come up with an authentic, or at least sympathetic looking replica to suit the project.
We have also manufactured plates for historic weaponry and new faces for long case clocks and sundials. These are a few examples of the possibilities when photo-etching.
